WINGLESS BIRDS SEEN THROUGH BROKEN PERISCOPES

…an original poem by anthony cerreta

Shattered dreams mixed with difficult hopes, are wingless birds seen through broken periscopes.

As elder, desperate souls scarred them young to bleed deep, it bled impossible dreamers that seek fates to bleed deeper, together.

And if two birds of a feather delicately woven together were intricately crafted and placed by hands that are far more clever than the two little palms which are forced to be strong, forced to carry on while they long to meet their reflection and grasp on, that is if they can be strong, which they can, then it’ll take forever.

Drifting between various, comfortably exotic locations
Disregarding restraints set forth by their generations
Dreading more treachery in new irrelevant situations
Discovering truth in the farthest destination
Deviate confused minds into seeking new hope.

While blinded in our pursuit of yearning to see.
Opened eyes needed to decipher this twisted reality.
Unless please God, please, you can still help me.

Carefully for I never want to be -
A wingless bird seen through a broken periscope.

I purchased my first pair of direct drive turntables from DNA Studio colleague and good friend, Dj Aske. Two Stanton Str8-30 Direct Drive Turntables sat in my bedroom and began spinning 12″ vinyl records to pass the time between work and networking.

I love music and the way I can get lost in it. It has always been easier for me to hear music and imagine visuals than the other way around. Nonetheless, I do not feel you can fully understand one without the other. -ntho

“Here it is, the last Monte Carlo match”. Behind the scenes inside my Santa Monica, California bathroom, I attempt to create a cool film effect by filming a miniature toy truck catching on fire. Unfortunately, it didn’t go quite as planned. Check me out as I almost start a fire – Woohoo!

After spending so much time editing video to music I started to pick up music production. Quite ironic since my film mentorship actually started as a music editing mentorship before deciding quickly that I’d rather learn film. One of the last thing I remember my instructor telling me was how “they’re both the same”…

A couple years later but now intrigued, I wanted to spend a weekend learning how to compose music with the (now) dinosaur music composition software – Fruity Loops. Unfortunately my weekend session turned into a month obsession as i found fruity loops to be a somewhat awkward or buggy program (err, at least my cracked version was).

None-the-less “1st Rendered Music Track” was the foundation to my new passion – music. Way ahead of it’s time as it was composed in 2005, “1st Rendered Music Track”" is still one of my favorite experiential electronica tracks.

As an encore to its phenomenally successful series Carmen Electras Aerobic Striptease, which has sold over 600,000 copies in a dozen languages worldwide, DNA Studio created and produced the ENVY aerobic fitness series – a compliment to the 90′s fitness classic “Body of Steel” series.

Leading DNA Studio’s interactive social media outreach efforts as the Social Media Marketing Manager, I was responsible for creating the video’s online banners from pre-made graphic assets, developing the Myspace page and posting video promotional samples to Youtube.

Marketed nation-wide, this dynamic super-team fitness concept was shot in HD at the beautiful, exclusive Yelapa Cove near Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. The DVD series was released during the 2005 holiday season and was initially sold exclusively by DNA Studio through the web and through a dedicated call center at 1-800-969-ENVY.

After a year in the Entertainment Industry, I began working full-time for DNA Studio.

The interactive web agency had recently released the Carmen Electra Aerobic Striptease series on DVD and was in need of solution to manage the company’s entertainment and media distribution department.

DNA Studio was acquired by Whittmann & Hart in 2007.

I felt like the years of late night video editing while listening to electronica were really starting to pay off when I figured out how to edit video to go to any music that you’re listening to.

In this experimental video, I’ve used a proprietary pattern of multiple elements that essentially allows this music marketing video to sync with any music that you’re listening to. Try it out for yourself and see! Press mute on the video and play any song.
